Feb. 12th, 2013 04:52 pm My husband walks in the door and right off the bat I have a handful of gripes about him. First, he gets home and makes a beeline for the bathroom where he spends about 20 minutes. Maybe I shouldn't be upset about this, because he's not allowed to use customers' bathrooms and nobody really goes number 2 in public restrooms. But he leaves the door open and then gets irritated when the pets come in, or our son wants to talk to him. Shut the door! It's nasty to see you go poop. I don't care how long we've been together.
Then he goes on the treadmill for half an hour to an hour. I understand now that he's working early he can't do this in the morning anymore but there goes another 30-60 minutes where he's here but completely useless. He might as well not be here.
Then he tells me he's early shift again tomorrow and I said "Are you going to be home to get [our son] on the bus?" "Oh. Uh...no." It's so awesome that he didn't think of this before he agreed to work early. Like who doesn't think of their kid's and wife's schedule before agreeing to a schedule change?
He did think to tell me he's permanently going to early shift but he said it wouldn't be until next week or the next. I didn't see it as an urgent problem since next week is vacation anyway so I figured I had time to wait until Thursday to tell my boss when I drop off my time card. Now I have to go in and tell her I can't work anymore and I can already see the disapproving look and I don't know why I give a crap since I'm essentially quitting. She's just very...I don't even know the word for it, cold I guess? She tried to be friendly to me the other day and I was taken aback.
Maybe I'm just too critical. Ya think?
