I put my son on the bus for the first day of K today. It was cool...I did tear up a little but no ugly crying or anything LOL. I was talking to him about the stuff in his bag, and it hit me that he was going to be on his own and it scares me. His bus driver seems nice although one of my friends pointed out on fb that it looks like he's not wearing pants. LOL he's wearing a long shirt with (hopefully) shorts on underneath.

I took the whole day off so I could get him on the bus but now I have nothing to do and I'm bouncing off the walls. Later I have to do a couple errands. He's all of a sudden all about learning piano so I have to go look for a book so I can work with him for a while and see if it's worth getting lessons. I have to get a couple groceries, too.

Next year's nkotb cruise was announced this morning. I'm not going but it's fun to see people get excited about it. I'm happy for them. The first year I went on it was magical and last year was just meh so I'm not going to risk it again. I'd rather go to some new concerts or Joey's solo show if he does one.

I went to turn in my time card this morning. I felt sick Friday afternoon so I didn't get a chance to go. She was all bitchy because she was swamped with the first day of K. I think she was mad at me for not calling in when I was sick last week. I called my driver, and the office wasn't open at the time so I did not call her. I heard through the grapevine that she was kind of miffed that I didn't call her so I apologized this morning and she wasn't very receptive. IDK if she was mad at me or just stressed from her day. I'm sure it'll blow over by the time I have to go in Friday to give her my timecard for this year. I hope. I hate it when people are mad at me.

Also, I watched Battle Royale over the last couple days. I liked it but I didn't love it. I'm not a big fan of movies with vague endings and I had to go look at some spoiler sites to even get a sense of what went down. I'm still not sure. LOL

I forgot to add some other stuff! Church started last week. I go to a UU church for those who don't know. I take my son but my husband declines. He sees it as just a big community and he's not really into being part of a community. I think it's a bit too liberal for him, too..

So my son started the K and 1st grade group. They'll be learning about the Dr. Seuss books and the lessons they teach which I think is awesome. I'm a new member of the RE (religious education) committee so I helped the kids find their class groups and helped people who looked lost. A woman and her 9th grade daughter who were there for the first time approached me and asked about the youth program. Her mom asked if she could be in the 10-12th grade youth group because "she's a mature 9th grader". Unfortunately we go by grades not maturity or that would be pretty confusing, right? Fortunately though UU youth in general are pretty great, mature and all that so I hope she'll fit in. I noticed she didn't go to her class but stayed with her mom in the church service. Oh well, you can lead a horse to water, etc.
