Oh they definitely are (at least the moms I've spoken to during my experiences in pediatrics). You shouldn't be afraid to talk to anyone about that, you'll be amazed at how many moms may feel the same.
You sound like you're doing a wonderful job with him and you sound like a great mom. If people are telling you that you're doing something right, then it's likely true. ;)
