Netflix Binge: Dept. Q

disgruntledgirlKevin and I just binge-watched this entire series Sunday. I snagged the first episode Friday night and then Sunday morning, I took it up again and watched episode 2 and part of 3. When Kevin woke up, I restarted the series and we were hooked.
If you liked The Blind Spot or British police procedurals like Midsomer Murders, this is a welcome series. There is only one season and it's all wrapped around a single cold case - which is the "schtick": they are solving cold case files. This show came out at the very end of May so the jury is still out if there will be another season. I hope so. This has legs and is set up smoothly for more seasons.
The characters are NOT predictable or animated tropes. In fact, there is a lot of solid character backstory and development to redeem even the most unlikable or annoying characters. Don't look up the actors in the middle of it - I did and it gave away a piece of the plot. Oooof.
Give it a watch and please give it a thumbs up - or even 2.
Warning: Excessively Scottish. Have subtitles on if you have trouble with accents. Sound quality is excellent, though.
