Writer's Block: No place like home

Love:
1. It's our first house and I love it for that.
2. Besides that, it's just a great house. It's not a house you'd look at and think, "Ooo, starter home." It's big and sunny and has beautiful hardwood floors, two stories, plenty of storage and rooms, a great kitchen, a huge backyard.
3. I love the location. It's off of a main road, but set back a block so you can't hear the traffic. Within 5 miles of my house are 2 main highways, a mall, post office, grocery store, gas, every fast food place you can name (not so good for my health, but whatever), good restaurants, a park, a zoo, and more. A little further out, at the other end of town, there is a farm and a library my son frequent, and many beaches.
4. I love the neighborhood. We keep to ourselves, but I know I can go to the two houses across the street if I need anything. It's quiet. Actually the only neighbor I haven't liked yet is a guy we knew before we even moved here. We used to own a store and he was one of our customers. One of our things was, we sold computer time and charged for printouts. We were pretty lenient on the rules, you could pretty much look at anything you wanted. Until we found out this guy was buying porn off our store computer. XD In general he's a major creeper. He even looks like one. So anyway we had just moved into our house last year and we were taking a walk down our street. We got to a house and he was standing outside it. I froze and said "Oh no...is that....? What did we do to deserve this?"
5. I love the basement. It's a creepy basement. My husband wants to renovate it and I'm kind of sad about that.
Hates
1. It's far from my family. I have to drive 1.5-2 hours at least and through Boston to see my dad or my mom. However, we are 2 minutes from my inlaws, whom I don't even speak to anymore if I can help it. Fair? I think not.
2. In general, I'm kind of sick of Massachusetts weather. I love the spring and fall which seem to last about 2 weeks each. I hate winter. Summer is tolerable in that I'd rather sweat to death than freeze to death.
3. In a way I hate that it is so big because there is so much to clean. I hate to clean.
4. Um...I really don't hate much else about it. You take the good with the bad, right? Like, I also love our huge yard but it sure is a PITA when you have to get rid of all the leaves.
5. I hate the bugs. I see a spider in the house about every other day on average, and there was the day last fall when I walked into our bedroom and faced about 30 ladybugs all over our curtains. And then there was the worm in the shower. Blech. But then I remind myself I'm so glad we don't live somewhere where the spiders are the size of your head.
