becomingkateI've got carpenters in my house so I can't leave the house. I can barely leave the office because of this dog who won't stop whining so if I take the gate down he'll just get in their way. I can't even put the gate up in the living room instead because the guys have to walk through there.
I hope they don't stay all day, but I have a feeling they will!
So, last few days have been NKOTB days so if you don't feel like slogging through my talking about that you can skip this bit.
Saturday they had their album release party in Boston. I took my husband because after 5 years since their reunion I still have no local go-to friends who I can count on to go to nkotb events with. I was really bummed out about that and my husband can be a pill when he's at things he doesn't want to be at (ie pretty much anything away from home and his computer that isn't a necessity) so I was really hoping the night wouldn't be a disaster.
He promised not to be too much of a downer so we went and we got some food beforehand and went to the show. It was fun-very bare bones since the album hadn't even come out yet and they had no choreography and didn't even know all the words. But it was really fun to see them like that-unpolished, just themselves and a small band and lots of confetti and balloons. There is always confetti at nkotb events.
DH had as good a time as he could, considering what it was.
At the end a group of fans got up and presented each NK with a framed ad that they raised money to put out in Billboard magazine. Since then there's been a frenzy to get hands on said magazine. It's proven very hard to find but a LJ friend of mine got her butt out there and found 3 copies for me. I promised I'd get one for my friend H if I found it and I'll just sell the other one. Everyone is looking for it since Billboard itself sold out like, the day it came out. Another friend of mine found a link to a store that said they had them and I tweeted that out.
I contacted college asking how I could keep tabs on what they have received and what they haven't. I was supposed to get a student ID after I applied and I either never got it or deleted it by accident. I just hate waiting on people and would like to know sooner rather than later if there are things I need to get rolling. I think it's too late for spring but I would like to enroll in summer classes if I can. I'm not sure how that will work out considering we've already planned a vacation, but we'll see.
