May. 12th, 2013 04:15 pm Had a decent day, my husband got me a new radio/iphone player (it also plays ipads which I think is neat) for the kitchen, which is awesome because my radio was all dirty and nasty from being too close to the stove and the volume dial was broken so it was really hard to adjust the volume-it was either really loud or too soft. And it didn't play apple products. So I'm happy!
My son made me a card and a bracelet at school. In the card he had to fill in things about me and he says "I like my mom's red dress" and I was trying to figure out what he meant, I don't have any red dresses. I finally figured out he meant my bathrobe! LOL
My mom and her boyfriend came over and they gave me my birthday presents since it's on Tuesday. I got a small grater that holds the cheese in it and then you tip it and the cheese comes out a little hole, like if you want to just put the cheese over some pasta or something-I can see this coming in handy a lot.
I got a corkscrew and a wine saver (which sucks the air out of the bottle so it stays good longer and you don't have to finish it in one night (to which my mother and I both said "Darn", after I explained it that way to my son) and a bottle of wine (so, I guess I'm pretty notorious for liking wine, LOL) We ordered pizza and mom brought salad, and we had banana cake that I made for dessert. They had made cupcakes but forgot to bring them :( Now my husband and son are at my inlaws.
You know it's kind of funny that I can see the thought process my family goes through when buying gifts for me. "Well she likes wine and cheese, so what can we get that's related to that?"
My mom brought a cool solar powered rainbow maker-I guess when it charges up, the crystal at the bottom spins around and when it catches the light it makes rainbows on the walls. I'm not really sure where to put it since different rooms get sun depending on the time of day! I may put it on one window at the beginning of the day and switch it as the sun moves.
