I'm pretty happy with how things are going. Did I mention we bought a house? We closed on Friday. Since then, we have been taking small trips of stuff to the house. It's hard to move when you're still living at your old place for a couple weeks. Will I need this bowl in the next two weeks? Will I miss these knick knacks? Will my son flip out and want to play with toys he hasn't seen in months the second I move them to the new house? Can I pack these mugs--what if we get a cold front in the next two weeks and I am just dying for a cup of tea and we have NO MUGS? Oh yeah, I can go 15 minutes down the road to the new house and get one.
We possibly have a house!
It needs some work, some major, some minor, some urgent, mostly not.
I am so excited to move to a house, have our own space, be able to step outside into a yard, get packages to our own door instead of delivered somewhere else or lost forever...
It took me a few months to get to this point. A few months ago I didn't care if I made it through another day. I didn't care if I left my husband, or if I couldn't care for my son. I thought they'd be better off without me. Now I know my son loves me to death and my husband, well, he's my husband. Who knows what he's thinking most of the time, but he has stuck around. (He's probably thinking the same thing about me...)
Now, if only I could tackle this eating problem with as much assuredness...
As with all major changes in my life I keep thinking this will make a major impact on who I am and how I live. But I know that it has to start with me--that moving to a house will not make me the happy little housewife and mom I envision, kneeling out in the garden, watering an abundance of plants, vegetables and herbs. I will not become a fabulous cook just because I have a nice kitchen. Hopefully I will care more about the appearance of the place, and be able to keep everything in better order. Also with most space there will not be as much clutter and junk to contend with.
I'm excited. I really hope this works out.
