First of all I'm a bit creeped out by giant fields.  They remind me of all those horror movies that take place in remote areas or on farms.  But I thought it would be fun to take my son to see the animals, and they were supposed to have rides and K9 demonstrations, which I personally really love.  I'd love to have a dog that would save my life in a heartbeat.

So we pull up to this giant field and I can see the livestock and some amusement park rides that were not running yet (just to add to the creepy).  And...hardly anybody was walking around.  It was just weird.  And ohhh, the creepy people working there.  I try not to be stereotypical about people in the farming and livestock business but holy crap.  I felt like I was in Tennessee all over again.

My card did not work at the ATM.  I think the strip is wearing out.  So I had $5 cash.

My son and I walked around and we got to feed some goats and sheep, and we saw a camel named Joshua, which is my son's name.  He got a kick out of that.

We saw a stage and people sitting down so we went to sit down.  Turned out it was a boy about 8 years old and a man on keyboards.  The boy started to sing.  He started off with Amazing Grace, then went on to America the Beautiful and other patriotic/religious songs.  And it might have been nice if he could sing, but he could not.  It was just a bunch of weirdness.

Next we found another stage and sat down there.  It turned out to be a karate demonstration which was kind of fun--until one of the demonstrations played the dueling banjos song in the background.  Yup, from Deliverance.  I'm not joking.  WTF?

We used up our last dollar at a place where you throw a ball at a target and dunk someone in a tub of water.  My son got a kick out of that, too.

So it was an...interesting experience.  I'd go back in the late afternoon (and with some money) next time so the rides would be running and so we could get lunch.
