Sorry for the repeat post from the FFA, I apologize if you already saw this there. But I wanted to update for the people who were interested.

Nothing really new to report with my son. He's been doing pretty well at night. Only thing is now he complains of a stomach ache a lot. I took him in to the doctor and they could not find anything wrong. They told me to give him a little benefiber in his drinks and see if that helps.

We put giant Transformers decals on the blank wall next to his bed and he doesn't complain about seeing monsters anymore :) For Christmas my husband got him this really cool battery operated firefly in a jar that he keeps next to his bed. When you tap on it the firefly glows and moves around. I think that helps comfort him too.

Yeah, I think that would be a little much right now. He likes the Disney (Jim Carrey) and Muppets Christmas Carol though. Coraline creeped me out, so I'm not ready to show that to him yet. It is hard. I want to encourage his creepy side but not give him something too scary.

I hear ya. My daughter fell in love with twilight at three (not creepy but not your normal three year old fare), so that got her started on the vamps and other monsters. She only has seen scooby doo zombies and twilight vamps though. The real thing is way way way too much for her. I let her watch that show face off, which is about movie make up and she really gets that scary movies are fake. I am waiting a few years before the horror movie marathon though. :)
I just try to feel out her limits. She is very honest about things and will ask me to turn shows off that frighten her.

That's pretty cool! Maybe I'll check out that face off show.
Our son likes that game plants vs. zombies, which is really cartoony and he wants to see "real zombies" but I know that would be too much for him.

Mine will be silly and suggest in all seriousness that we watch True Blood or The Walking Dead since she knows we watch them. Really?
Face Off is neat since it shows every step. She loved the zombie and horror ones and the grossest were here faves. That is not to say that she could watch the previously mentioned shows though. It is just something to show her it is all fake...someday.
